Dear Brother,
Thanks for your letter. The accident was indeed a very minor one. I am quite well now.
Yours Lovingly,
Birjees.

Dear Auntie,
My heart reaches out to you in your bereavement. I wish I could fly to be with you at this moment of great family sorrow. I pray for peace to the departed soul and tranquility of your heart. With profound sorrow.
Yours,
Khundeja.
Dear Nawaz,
I have a rented a big house for the whole year at Murree. How nice it would be you if all of you could grant us the pleasure of your company during the summer vacation! We feel quite lonely here, and your stay with us, far from being burden, will, in fact, be a source of sunshine and domestic delight. Please bring your family here as soon as possible.
Yours affectionately,
Qamar.
Dear Qamar,
Please accept our thanks for your kind invitation. But I am afraid that the situation is not as it might appear to be. I have to take my examination next month and so I can hardly want of library and other facilities there. Mother, you know is of stay at-home nature who manages to bring Murree into her house with the help of a refrigerator or an air_conditioning plant instead of going out to Murree. As to the childern they are crying for Abbattabad rather than for the hills. Anyhow I am trying to take my family with me, and will send you the final reply next week.
Yours Lovingly,
Nawaz.
Dear Zahid,
It was really kind of you to have offered us accommodation in your flat in Lahore for two months during summer. Really it is an opportunity not at all to be missed. We will be reaching Lahore by the Dexule train on January 28 just after seeing the Republic Day procession at Rawalpindi. More when we meet.
Yours sincerely,
Shamsher.
Dear Shamsher,
Thank you for accepting my invitation. My car will be there at the station to carry you home on your home on your arrival at Lahore on January 28 by the Dexule train. If the driver fails to spot you, please look for No.LHE 9999. Pleasant for your arrival.
Yours sincerely,
Zahid.
Dear Brother,
How can you be silent for such a long time? No news from you at all ! You had promised to write a letter to me every day, and the whole month has gone by without a word for you. Remember what you used to say, “A promise breaker is a shoe_maker.” Do you intend to become one?
Yours,
Razia.
Dear Auntie,
How can you stay away from us so long and never send a word? Have the new environment made you so woefully forgetful of your old associates? “Blood thicker than water,” then say. You have to prove it now?
Yours sincerely,
Akram.
Dear Razia,
Thanks for your letter. If one could make shoes by breaking promises, many would gladly do so. Fortunately it is easier to write a letter than to make a shoe. So here is a letter. If you do not receive another next week, rest assured you will find it in my shoe when you come home next month.
Yours,
Noman.
Dear Akram,
You are as dear to me as is my own son here. There is no water between you and us. It is all thick blood. I am sorry I could not write to you because I was not feeling well ever since I arrived here. Now I am better. There is no cause for anxiety.
Yours lovingly,
Auntie.
