LETTER FOR LATE REPLY

Dear Auntie,

I owe you a very sincere apology. You wrote to me last month but due to preoccupation with more urgent affairs, I regret very much that your letter has remained unreplied. Do not think that I am offering you a lame excuse. My excuse has really long legs. I had so many guests at home on account of the Republic Day rush in Lahore that I could not attend to my correspondence. I wish you had joined the colourful crowd of kith and kin at our house instead of excusing yourself off. Rather an apology is due from you!

Yours affectionately,

Shaila.
