THANKS FOR HAPPY TIME

Dear Uncle,

it was so nice of you to have taken us to the Zoo last Monday. I write this to tell you how much I enjoyed that day with auntie, Pappy, Bobbu and Neeto. You gave me a nice time and I think I was very lucky. It was so grand to have ice-cream with you at the Zoo. In fact, every moment we spent together was magnificent.

Yours Lovingly,

Shafi.

LETTER FOR LATE REPLY

Dear Auntie,

I owe you a very sincere apology. You wrote to me last month but due to preoccupation with more urgent affairs, I regret very much that your letter has remained unreplied. Do not think that I am offering you a lame excuse. My excuse has really long legs. I had so many guests at home on account of the Republic Day rush in Lahore that I could not attend to my correspondence. I wish you had joined the colourful crowd of kith and kin at our house instead of excusing yourself off. Rather an apology is due from you!

Yours affectionately,

Shaila.

ENQUIRINZG ABOUT AILMENT

Dear Uncle,

We are all here anxious to know about your health. We have received disturbing news of your suffering from cough and cold during the current cold wave at Murree. Why don’t you come over to Lahore when it is snowing over there? Please take better care of your health. It will be ideal if you come stay with us until the weather improves in Murree.

Yours Lovingly,

Roohi.

REPLY TO ABOVE

Dear Roohi,

Do not worry about my health. I am myself worrying sufficiently enough. Every possible care is being taken by my daugther. if the worst is to come, what’s the use of worrying? Lahore is as much within reach of the Inevitable as in Murree. If I have to die this year or the next, I will rather die at home. But there is no immediate danger or anxiety. One should be always prepared philosophically for death. It knows no age, no season.

With Love,

Yours affectionately,

Uncle.
