INVITATION TO MARRIAGE

Dear Bhatti,

You will hardly believe that I am going to absent myself from work on the 20th March on account of a marriage. I have never before absented myself from work in order to attend a marriage but this time I just can’t help it, because it’s my own marriage that I have to attend. As we have always lived and worked like twins, you will also have to absent yourself from your office and be my bottle-holder in this great boxing bout of life! More when he meet.

Yours sincerely,

Sarfraz.

Dear Mr. Rehman,

How nice it would have been if we had known of your Dinner Invitation a week earlier! As it is, our seats have already been reversed by the Shalimar Express for Karachi and, if cancelled, somebody will be disappointed at the other end. Thanking your all the same.

Yours sincerely,

Salamat Ullah khan.

IN ILLNESS

Dear Reshman,

I am suffering from typhoid and there is nobody to help me around in the hospital. My mother is herself laid up with fever. Could you come for a few days or send somebody?

Yours sincerely,

Kamal.

IMPORTANT REPLY TO ABOVE

Dear Mr. Mukhtar,

Very glad to receive your invitation. But I regret I cannot attend your sister’s birthday party because I have to be present at my own sister’s birthday party on the same day. It will be ideal if both of us go with you in the afternoon. We have changed our time to suit this arrangement. I take it for granted that you will accept my suggestion.

Yours sincerely,

Wasi.
