Dear Sir,

Mr. Wali Khan is industrious by nature, intelligent and devoted to his work, but sometimes he is likely to drink too much and liable to neglect his duty.

REFERENCE TO AN ACCOUNTANT

Dear Sir,

There is under consideration in our office the employment of one Mr. Roshan Ali who claims to have worked as an accountant in your office for ten years. Why did he leave his job with you? Do you think him reliable? We shall treat your answer confidential and will gladly reciprocate.

Thanking you.

REPLY TO ABOVE

Dear Sir,

Please refer to your letter dated 16thNov,2023. It is true that Mr. Roshan Ali worked with us for a period of ten years as an accountant and his work was highly satisfactory. We found him absolutely reliable. We had to dispense with his service because of his union activities on account of which he was found neglecting his duty.

Yours faithfully,

Punjab National Co. Ltd.

CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT

Dear Sir,

Mr. Khalid Chaudhry , who claims to have passed the examination of Chartered Accountants and also says has worked for a number of years in your office, is being considered for employment in our office. He has not told us the reason for leaving you, though indirectly he has dropped a hint that he was superseded by a new entrant in your firm. In any case we would be highly grateful if you would just let us know about his efficiency and general conduct.

Thanking you.

Yours faithfully,

Dear Sir’

With reference to your communication dated 16thNov,2023. I have to say that I have gathered some information from a relative of the firm’s manager who was recently discharged that the firm is being pressed for payment from several quarters’ and that the proprietors are unable to meet their liabilities at the moment. I understand they have lost heavily on the Lahore Stock Exchange and the firm is likely to go bankrupt.

Yours faithfully’
